Campaign planning

A practical music marketing timeline.

Coordinate the story, assets, links and audience activity around release day instead of improvising after the song is live.

Build around the date

Every campaign needs sequence.

Four or more weeks before: foundation.

Finalize the audience, story, visual direction, budget, content list, platform profiles and release delivery. Timing varies, so begin earlier whenever possible.

Two to four weeks before: pre-launch.

Prepare short-form video, photos, captions, links, partner outreach and a posting calendar. Introduce the story without exhausting the strongest material too early.

Release week: make discovery easy.

Publish direct listening links, coordinate collaborators, update artist profiles and respond to real audience activity. Keep the message clear: what is out, why it matters and where to hear it.

After launch: extend and learn.

Continue using the strongest content angles, review saves, completion, locations and engagement, and document what should change before the next release.
